Monday Mantra 104

"You need boundaries…even in our material creations, boundaries mark the most beautiful of places, between the ocean and the shore, between the mountains and the plains, where the canyon meets the river."- Wm. Paul Young

Too soft a boundary allows in debris that sticks to us or pulls us under the waterline of someone else’s suffering. Too hard a boundary and NO new life can float in and bring the gift of fresh insight or change. Our personal boundaries protect but don’t exclude information, opinion, care, beauty and love. Our connected futures require us to know where boundaries are necessary for self-awareness, self-respect and personal value, and where they restrict the natural breath of deep connection. Balance and understanding, not soft versus hard, are the golden keys.
