"If we kill off the wild, then we are killing a part of our souls." - Jane Goodall
Asphalt freeways, HD TV and new computers; “smart” phones and cars excite for brief seconds. YES, they are necessary tools; but don’t feed our souls. We are “the wild” by our very nature: interdependent with all living things: capable of sudden joy, unexpected flights of fancy and expressions of art and song, dance and love. The wild: whether exotic jungles or day hikes off the grid; forest creatures or homebound pets; are necessary partners that do feed “our souls.” PAY ATTENTION to the vast environment at terrible risk; wild currents of oceans, large and small animals, entire rain forests and microscopic flitting life and ask, “Am I willing to kill off part of my soul?”
