"Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity." - Carl Jung
"Equanimity" is a powerful word that takes insight, courage and intention to maintain. “Patience” is not passive acceptance; it is an action that asks us to breathe in all of life as it is and learn to float on without fighting the river of life. Don’t concretize experience into divisions of “good” or “bad;” rather enter the life-river as it pounds over waterfalls or slows into life giving eddies or escapes into new branches and streams.
