"I have become the friend of the enemy, whoever that is. I have become older and, cherishing what I have learned, I have become younger." - Mary Oliver

When we open ourselves to the "enemy’s" story and really listen, we’re surprised to find ourselves empathetic. For within their story is our own. Battles fought with our ego’s, with physical or mental pain; fear of loss, betrayal and abandonment, are shared in some way by all. "Become older," in wisdom and "Cherish what you learned," but refuse to be rigid or self-defensive. "Becoming younger" is the best way to grow past limitations of "enemy."
