“Do not weep, do not wax indignant. Understand.” – Spinoza
It’s much easier to succumb to rage, which masks our fears, than to deepen our listening. It’s easier to “wax indignant” than focus on suffering of others; easier to be sure we’re right. To “understand” takes patience and time we think we don’t have. To “understand” requires courage to test our beliefs and feel someone else’s pain as our own. Fight for truth, justice and equality; let understanding be your compass.
