Monday Mantra 249

January 22, 2018

“If you push through that feeling of being scared, that feeling of taking risk, really amazing things will happen.” – Maria Mayer

Our personal histories, chances of biology, gender, birthplace and skin color can converge to send negative messages to possibility: “You can’t do that!” Being afraid we’re not enough is a falsehood but it’s a powerful one punctuated with a “STOP” sign! Life, all of it, is a risk. “Feel Fear, do it anyway! “Face risks, account for, name them, call them out and don’t deny them. Guaranteed: “Amazing things will happen.”

Monday Mantra 248

January 15, 2018

“Struggle is a never ending process. Freedom is never really won, you earn it and win it in every generation.” – Coretta Scott King

Do not go back to sleep! “Never-ending” means this “struggle” is for lifetimes. The good news? You, me, we, all get an opportunity to ACT. Take nothing for granted, MLK and CSK gave their hearts, minds and lives for your freedom. Be one with them and “earn it.” Your example is a “win” for “freedom” for every generation that follows you.

January 8, 2018

“Do not look away when the Inner Light dims and the Outer World blurs.” – Rise Up Movement!

We’re all susceptible to confusion and self-doubt. At such times “Inner Light dims,” but never abandons us; never gives up its grace and beneficial illumination. “Outer World blurs” when selfish power brokers cause fear of outcomes; wariness of future. Antidote? Deepen Inner Light; stay mindful of your own possibility-glow and take action! Ignite energy of your Inner Light to “tell truth to power” and help guide our shared future!

Monday Mantra 246

January 1, 2018

“What is vision? Seeing reality with clarity seeing what must be done and the necessity of specific action. Vision demands we push with urgency to get people to pull their heads out of the sand and act.” – Winston Churchill

Vision is fun! Vision’s creative glance into our futures imagines dreams come true. BUT, “Vision without clarity,” is weak, blurry, confused; can’t be realized. “ Necessity of specific action,” insists we create plans and strategies or risk unfulfilled vision. Vision without action’s clarity leaves us disillusioned and disappointed. “Push with urgency;” dream and make coherent plans; help us all “pull our heads out of the sand and ACT!”

Monday Mantra 245

December 25, 2017

“This is the True Joy in Life – being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish clod of aliments and grievances complaining the world will not devote itself to making you happy.” – George Bernard Shaw

You’re meant for great and mighty things! Fulfill promise of your heritage; live up to challenges of our time and leave your mark; no complaints. “Force of nature;” is a roaring river but can also be a quiet, steady flow of deep power. Choose what defines you, “recognized by yourself,” OR others do it for you and you never feel like yourself. “True Joy,” is living Purpose of your True Self and for dreams bigger than yourself!

Monday Mantra 244

December 18, 2017

“Passed years seem safe ones, vanquished, won over, we circle back and back thinking to return to yesterday’s safety and forgetting they are better now than they were at the time. The future lives in a cloud, formidable from a distance. We fear it but the cloud clears as you enter it; keep moving forward.” – Beryl Markham

“Passed years” challenged us; we forgive and forget. Present can’t compete with blurred backward realm of “safety.” Future can’t be envisioned out of glorified memories. “Future lives in a cloud,” but all time-space is infused with the same blessed LIGHT. Don’t fear Future; Light up its challenge. Focus possibility, abandon safe shores, engage real-life solutions; be a fearless CREATIVE force. Make “Formidable” your middle name!

Monday Mantra 243

December 11, 2017

“We’re all desperate to belong to something larger than ourselves. Soulful work is where you feel you belong and where that ache for your life to matter is fulfilled.” – David Whyte

A Golden Thread, gift of birthright, weaves Life Purpose to our “Soulful work.” We all recognize “Soulful work;” its heartbeat hums within our spirits and leads to a life where we “feel we belong.” It’s our personal compass and points to true, real, inspired possibility and purpose. “ To matter,” is our true destiny. When ignited with vision it causes us to ACTIVATE natural gifts and achieve lives of lasting value.

Monday Mantra 242

December 4, 2017

“I will not be complicit or silent. We must never meekly accept threats against principles, freedoms, and institutions, or agree with the flagrant disregard for truth and decency.” – Jeff Flake

“Spin” is the acceptable-unacceptable, “Ok” way to sell, market, and convince people to “buy” products they don’t need or an idea that’s shady. What of “meek acceptance” and being “complicit or silent” in the face of “flagrant disregard for truth and decency?” Worse than a hard sell, that’s toxic poison! It kills decency, justice, fairness, equality and democracy. Listen, watch, ACT and think critically. The future you save is your own.

Monday Mantra 241

November 27, 2017

“God may be in the details, but the goddess is in the questions. Once we begin to ask them, there’s no turning back.” – Gloria Steinem

No question, spoken directly from strong hearts, with honest inquiry, should ever go unasked. Before you speak personal truths, ask questions that challenge your critical thinking. Demand we all face challenging answers and LEAD. You can do it! Stand firm in digging for inconvenient truth, especially when unpopular with the noisy, selfish, crowd. The goddess weaves deepest questions. Listen; she whispers; “There’s no turning back.” to suffering that which is greater than the ego.

Monday Mantra 240

November 20, 2017

“We are safer in the world when we are safer within ourselves.” – Unknown

Don’t look for cold, hard weapons to protect you. Instead go deep inside your heart-mind; anchor to your True Self. Your personal compass, unique purpose and passion ignite inner power. “Safer within,” outer storms can’t push us far left or right. “ Safer within,” is our centered self. It’s not a hideout! It’s the spiritual-mindful space of courage in threatening times. In that integral home we are ourselves and “safer in the world.”
